Deceased Name: Mr. Sampson A. Croft

of Charlotte, NC died peacefully Monday morning, January 8, 2001 at Presbyterian Hospital. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 11, 2001 at First Wesleyan Church, 2300 Alleghany Street in Charlotte with The Reverend Robert Allred officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn West Cemetery, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte. The family will receive friends at the Harry and Bryant Chapel, 500 Providence Road, Charlotte from 7:00-8:30 PM Wednesday. Mr. Croft was born in Charlotte, NC May 28, 1916. He served as an officer in the United States Army until retiring in 1949. He was a member of First Wesleyan Church where he served as organist. Mr. Croft enjoyed golf and gardening and was a member of Carolina Golf and Country Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sydney F. Croft and Emma D. Boone Croft, five brothers, and two sisters. Mr. Croft is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nina Croft; his grandchildren, a sister, Orella Croft of Charlotte, NC; and nephews, Ashley Long of Union, NE and Eddie Long and Mike Long of Charlotte, NC. Memorials may be made to First Wesleyan Church, 2300 Alleghany Street, Charlotte, NC 28208. Harry and Bryant Company is serving his family. *
